Dorota Sadovská entered the Slovak art scene in the 1990s with her unmistakable signature style that challenged the classical painting medium and the Christian tradition in terms of content. Sadovská is an intermedia artist fascinated by the limits of corporeality. Her interest in figurative painting, with its emphasis on an unmistakable grasp of the duality of the body (sensual corporeality) and the soul (a higher spiritual transcendence), continues to make her an unmissable artist not only on the Slovak domestic scene but also on the international scene.
The exhibition "Green Body" thoroughly explores the boundaries of corporality and spirituality, which have long been accentuated, analysed and transformed in her work. The exhibition is a cross-section of her work. The concept of presence is viewed from the position of the intimacy of corporeality in its purity and vulnerability. The artist also grasps corporeality from the perspective of Christian spirituality and consciously moves between the media of painting, object, installation, photography, performance and interaction with the audience.
